LIGHT TINTING DONE RIGHT

Light tinting is one of the most visible cosmetic upgrades you can make to a vehicle. A smoked taillight or tinted headlight lens gives a truck or car a cleaner, more custom look without touching the body. We use vinyl tint film applied directly to your lenses: taillights, headlights, marker lights, and fog light covers, depending on your vehicle and what you're going for. It's one of many exterior auto upgrades we offer, and it works well alongside other lighting upgrades if you're building out a full look.

Getting that look right comes down to the install. Bubbling, lifting edges, and uneven shade coverage are the most common issues we see on self-installed tints. Our team has been doing this long enough to know which films hold up, what shades work well on which vehicles, and how dark you can go before running into legal issues in Ohio. All work is quote-based because light size, shape, and finish vary by vehicle.

OUR LIGHT TINTING SERVICES

We tint taillights, headlights, marker lights, and fog covers using professional-grade vinyl film, in shades ranging from a subtle smoke to a full blackout.

Taillight Tinting

Taillights are the most commonly tinted light on trucks and SUVs. They're large, visible, and have a significant impact on the rear-end appearance of a vehicle. We apply film in your choice of shade while maintaining enough light output to stay road legal in Ohio.

Headlight Tinting

Headlight tinting adds a smoked or blacked-out look to the front end without replacing the housing. We're more conservative with headlight shades than taillights because darkness levels affect nighttime visibility, and we'll tell you honestly if a shade you want crosses that line.

Marker & Fog Light Covers

Marker lights and fog light covers are small details that make a big difference on a finished build. Tinting these to match your taillights or headlights ties the whole look together. We do these as standalone jobs or as part of a full vehicle tint package.

Full Vehicle Light Tinting

If you want a consistent look across every light on the vehicle, we can match shades across taillights, headlights, markers, and fog covers in a single visit. It's the cleanest way to finish a build without mismatched films from different sources.

LIGHT TINTING FAQS

  • Is light tinting legal in Ohio?

Ohio law requires that taillights remain visible and functional, which means you can tint them as long as the red color is still visible and the light output meets minimum standards. Extremely dark tints that effectively black out a light are not street legal. Headlight tinting is legal, but needs to allow sufficient light output for safe nighttime driving. We know where the line is and won't put a shade on your vehicle that creates a legal or safety problem.
  • What's the difference between light smoke, medium smoke, and dark tint?

Light smoke is a subtle change that takes the edge off a bright red or clear lens without dramatically altering the look. Medium smoke is the most popular choice and gives a noticeably darker appearance while staying road legal on most vehicles. Dark tint significantly changes the look but approaches the legal limit on taillights and is generally not recommended for headlights. We show you samples in person so you're not guessing from a screen.
  • How long does light tint film last?

Quality vinyl film typically lasts 3-5 years with normal use. The biggest factor in longevity is the installation: lifted edges and bubbling are almost always the result of poor application rather than a product failure. We use durable professional-grade film and apply it correctly, which makes a bigger difference than the brand of film alone.
  • Can light tint be removed?

Yes. Vinyl tint film is designed to be removable. A professional removal takes an hour or less in most cases and won't damage the lens. Professional-grade film removes cleanly without leaving adhesive residue, unlike lower-quality consumer films.
  • Does tinting affect how bright my lights are?

All tinting reduces light output to some degree, which is why shade selection matters. A light smoke on taillights has minimal effect on visibility. A dark headlight tint can meaningfully reduce your nighttime visibility, which is why we're more conservative with headlight recommendations. We'll tell you honestly if a shade is going to compromise safety, not just legality.
