MAINTENANCE & INSTALLATION IN COLUMBUS, OHIO
Routine maintenance is the work that keeps a vehicle safe and reliable between the bigger jobs. At Pickups Plus Cars, that includes oil and filter changes, battery testing and replacement, fluid services, and the kind of scheduled upkeep that most shops can handle but not all shops bother to do right. We've been doing this work for Central Ohio customers since 1999, and we approach maintenance the same way we approach any install: do it correctly the first time.
Our installation services cover customers who have sourced a part, ordered an upgrade, or picked something up and need it installed by a shop with the experience to do it properly. We install aftermarket parts across a wide range of categories at both our Lewis Center and Hilliard locations. Bring us the part, and we'll handle the rest. If you're not sure whether a part will fit your specific vehicle, come in and we'll check before anything goes on the lift.
MAINTENANCE & INSTALLATION SERVICES
-
Routine Maintenance
Regular maintenance keeps small issues from becoming larger ones. We handle oil and filter changes, fluid checks and top-offs, wiper replacements, and the scheduled service items that add up over time. In our experience, the vehicles that come in consistently for basic upkeep cost their owners less in repairs over the long run. We'll tell you what your vehicle actually needs and skip recommending anything it doesn't.
-
Battery Service
A failing battery doesn't always announce itself clearly. Starting issues, slow cranks, and electronics behaving oddly can all point back to a battery that's past its service life. We test batteries and charging systems, identify whether the battery or the alternator is the cause, and handle replacement on the spot when needed. Battery service is available at both our Lewis Center and Hilliard locations without an extended wait.

Aftermarket Part Installation
If you've sourced a part yourself, ordered something online, or purchased an upgrade that needs to go on the vehicle, we do the install. This covers a wide range of aftermarket parts — exterior accessories, performance bolt-ons, functional upgrades, and components that don't fit neatly into a single service category. We confirm fitment before starting, and we stand behind the installation work regardless of where the part came from.

Multi-Point Inspections
Before a road trip, after buying a used vehicle, or when something just feels off, a multi-point inspection gives you a clear picture of where the vehicle stands. We check the systems that matter most: brakes, battery, fluids, belts, tires, and suspension components. We report what we find and what the priority level is, then let you decide what to address and when. No pressure, no upsell — just a straight assessment.

COMMON MAINTENANCE & INSTALLATION QUESTIONS
Do you install parts that customers bring in?
Yes. If you've sourced a part yourself, we'll install it. We confirm fitment and compatibility before anything goes on the vehicle, so bring in the part along with your year, make, and model and we'll let you know if it's a straightforward install or if there are any fitment considerations to work through first. Most aftermarket parts we see are a standard install; occasionally a part requires additional hardware or modification, and we'll tell you upfront if that's the case. What does routine maintenance include?
At minimum, routine maintenance covers oil and filter changes, fluid checks, tire pressure, and a visual inspection of key components like belts, hoses, and brakes. The specifics vary by vehicle and mileage. We follow manufacturer recommendations as a baseline and flag anything that's outside of spec or approaching the end of its service life. The goal is to stay ahead of failures, not react to them. How do I know if my battery needs to be replaced?
The clearest signs are a slow or labored start, a dashboard warning light, or electronics that are behaving inconsistently. Batteries typically last 3 to 5 years, though Ohio winters can shorten that range by putting extra load on the system in cold temps. We test batteries and charging systems to determine whether the battery is the issue or whether the alternator is failing to charge it properly. Testing takes a few minutes and gives you a definitive answer before you spend money on a replacement that may not fix the problem. Can you install a part I ordered online without voiding my warranty?
Installing a part yourself or having an independent shop install it does not void your vehicle's factory warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which prohibits manufacturers from requiring that only dealer-installed parts be used to maintain warranty coverage. The exception is if the part itself causes damage — in that case, the manufacturer can deny a warranty claim on the affected system. If you have concerns about a specific part or your warranty situation, bring it in, and we'll talk through it.
